Disable MS Word as text editor for SAP Smart Forms

Microsoft Word is used as the internal editor in S/4HANA. If you want to change or create something in SAP Smart Forms, for example, Word opens as an external window.

In our example, the written text was displayed vertically and was not transferred to the SAP system.

In this case, it makes sense to deactivate Microsoft Word as a text editor by opening the Word options and setting the top item in the “General” tab to “Optimize for compatibility”.

After reopening the transaction, no Word window should open in the editor and editing will work again as usual in the system.
